FAQ
Welcome to our "Frequently Asked Questions" page. Here you'll get the scoop on what we do and recommendations we have for you to consider prior to ordering on of our custom products
- What wood do you use to build your beds? We use pine for all custom beds and Amish storage pieces (dressers, chests, nightstands, etc).
- How long does it typically take to get my order once I place it online? Typical turnaround time if 4-6 wks (unfinished - ready to paint or stain) and 6-8 wks w/ stain finish.
- What are my stain options? We use Minxwax oil-based stains for our products. Many of them are shown on the website, but you can also check out samples at your local hardware store (Lowes, Home Depot, Sherwin Williams, etc) to determine the right color for your room. If you'd like to know what a particular bed in stained in from one of our website pictures, just shoot us a chat and we can confirm stain color.
- Can I get my bed painted instead of stained?. Yes, but we do not suggest painting our beds since they are made of real wood with natural occasional knots or surface cracks. We don't deny you the option though if you definitely want it painted and understand the knots and surface cracks scenario
- Can I customize the bed? Yes. We can add/subtract height from headboard or footboard on traditional beds within reason. We do suggest reaching out to us prior to discuss measurements.
- I'm not a fan of the railings on the loft/bunk beds. Can you take them off? No. We will not. We have gone through great lengths to get certified through the CSPC (Child Safety Commission Service) and those railings and spacings are required to sell in the US. And, most importantly, safety is our #1 goal
- Do you make the storage pieces likes dressers and chests? No. We offer storage from two main sources currently: Fighting Creek Furniture, which is our favorite Amish vendor of pine furniture and Whitewood Furniture which gives a slightly different look to "classy" up a room while still matching our overall design well. Both series stain nicely to complement our beds.
- I have more questions, is there someone I can talk with? Yes! We are happy to help answer any questions prior to placing your order. Chat is generally the easiest, but we are also happy to answer questions via email or phone. Our number is 864-707-9904
